About

John & Sheila Carter

John Henry Carter IV was born in Biloxi, Mississippi and is currently a native of Houston, Texas.  After working for City of Houston for several years, he became an entrepreneur and started his own construction company in 2005.  Big Country is a nick name John acquired over the years, due to his love for football, bow hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.  John is the proud father of five children and is happily married his loving wife and business partner Sheila Evette-Swirczynski Carter.  Becoming a business owner enables John to pursue his passion of the outdoors and time with family; a quality he mirrors with the employees of his business.  Big Country has approximately seven to ten employees all from diverse backgrounds.  A quality John takes a great deal of pride in.  John is fluent in Spanish which makes the language barrier that can sometimes make it difficult to do business in the construction industry a non-issue.

John enjoys giving back to his community.  His company, Big Country Asphalt 94, sponsors Fun Fair Positive Soccer, which is a youth sports organization within his community.  He also donates money, time, and service to Love and Joy Personal Care Home and is a Board Member of the non-profit AAA Angels of Love.  John is a proud member of the M.W. Brighter Light Grande Lodge of Texas (Masonic Lodge) located in the Sunnyside community of Houston, Texas.
